Men's Leadership Retreat: Greece 2025

Greece Leadership Retreat

This June, we are organizing the Cost of Glory Men's Leadership Retreat once again.
We will unite a tight group of carefully selected men interested in tracing the footsteps of the great figures of antiquity.
This seven-day retreat will introduce participants to the ancient art and science of Rhetoric.
You will learn to apply rhetoric to an active life; you will visit important historical sites of Ancient Greece; you will relive the stories of the great men who struggled, clashed, and spoke there.

There will be also be some preparatory online instruction during the month prior to the retreat.

Dr. Alex Petkas and Dr. Eric Hewett will lead the retreat.

The theoretical aspects of the retreat will be released as a series of video lessons starting from April 26th - May 31st, 2025.

The retreat itself will commence on June 8th, 2025 in Athens, and continue until June 15th, 2025.

A variety of housing options are available.

Alumni of the retreat will qualify to join The Rostra, an exclusive training circle for on-going practice and improvement in rhetoric.

Space is limited, so we encourage all to apply quickly.

Let's start with your personal details

Answer the following questions, as briefly or as fully as you care to:

Have you ever participated in a men-only retreat? If so, how was the experience?

Have you ever been to Greece, or Europe before?

What sector(s) of the economy do you work in?

What kind of roles do you take on in your work?

Is there something you want to accomplish that requires you to become a better writer or speaker?

How would improving your writing or speaking skills enhance your career?

What personal challenges do you set for yourself? What goals have you set and achieved?

How would you like to challenge yourself in the future, but haven’t yet?

We plan to offer an online component during the months prior to the course, to help keep our focus during the in-person portion of the course on practical applications. We anticipate asking for between 5-10 hours of commitment to study. There will be video, audio, readings, and a private group chat.

Do you see any obstacles to completing the preparatory course?

What do you hope to get out of this leadership retreat?

Is there anything else you would like to add that would help us consider your application?
